ESP-Mesh-Lite
Network Provisioning
When provisioning devices with ESP-Mesh-Lite feature using Nova Home, please provision both the root node and the leaf node. You need to designate a device as the root node. During the network provisioning, please ensure that the Bluetooth function of the mobile phone is kept on.
Root Node
Enter the home page of the Nova Home app, and the phone will automatically scan for unconfigured devices. In the pop-up network provisioning window, tap Go to add
to enter the device selection page. Alternatively, in the upper right corner of the home page, tap the +
button > Add Device
to enter the device search interface.
After entering the device selection page, select one of the node devices as the root node, and tap Next
to enter the device configuration interface.
Enter the device provisioning page, select a 2.4 G Wi-Fi network, and enter the corresponding password. Then, tap Next
to continue.
The green check will show up after the device is connected to the network. Then, tap OK
to complete the root node provisioning.
You can view the configured root node on the Mesh Networking
section, and the app assigns the ID 77 to the root node by default.
Leaf Node
To configure the network for the leaf nodes, you need to configure the network under the root node. Select the root node on the Mesh Networking
section and tap the root node device card. Enter the device list, as shown in the figure below.
Tap the +
in the upper right corner to enter the device list. If there is no device displayed in the list, refresh the list, which is shown as the below figure:
Select one or multiple nodes as the leaf node and tap Next
to continue.
When the green check shows up, the provisioning completes.
Note! The leaf node should connect to the same Wi-Fi as its root node.
Switch back to the Mesh Networking
page and tap the root node to check the new added leaf node devices, or check the node on the home page.
Create Mesh Group
You can group and control devices under the same Mesh network by creating a Mesh Group. At present, Nova Home also has the basic group control function, which allows grouping of any device bound under the account. But the control commands under this group will reach each device over cloud, which may lead a delay. On the other hand, the Mesh Group allows direct issuing of commands from the root node to reduce the delay.
Here are the steps to create a Mesh Group.
- Tap the root node setting card to enter the device list.
- In the lower left corner, tap
Group
to go to the device selection page. - Select the device for grouping, tap
Save
, and set the group name.
To view the created Mesh Group, go back to the Mesh Networking
section.
Tapping the Group card allows you to view information about the devices within the group. Tapping the switch button on the card enables you to control the power state of all devices within the group.
